These are some of the questions that folks asked when first using the NatureZap AC.

1.  Is there a special extension cord I need to use?
The NatureZap takes very little current, less than 1 amp when running. You can use any length of an outdoor-grounded 3-prong extension cord.

2.  What type of weeds will it work on?
The NatureZap is effective on broadleaf weeds. The NatureZap is a very targeted application; if a dandelion grows right in the middle of your flowers, it can be treated without causing surrounding plant damage. As with any weed control, it is best to attack the weeds early on instead of letting the weeds get too mature. Please refer to the user’s guide for visual plant references.

3.  Where do you specifically apply NatureZap?
Insert the heating element tip directly into the center of the root crown. The root crown is that part of the root system from which a stem arises and is located in the center of the weed. This is where new buds develop. Be sure to review the “twist and turn” procedure bulletin.

4.  Any seasonal recommendations?
The soil acts as an insulator for all plants. The warmer the soil, the faster the plant dies; the hotter the day, the better effect. We suggest using the afternoon sun for maximum effectiveness. If you’re trying to treat the weeds on cool days, give it some extra time and as always, use the twist-n-turn method while applying pressure. For weeds treated late in the growing season, they will take longer to kill and show less signs of trauma due to the cooling temperature of the air and the soil. This is natural, just like you can refrigerate flowers to store them for long periods of time. Not to worry, they'll be gone before you know it.

5.  When best to start on weed control?
A best practice procedure is to start early in the growing process and treat as often as needed to control new seedling growth. Killing seedlings is the fastest and easiest way to use NatureZap and the most effective way to keeping mature weeds from ever getting established.

6.  What is the amount of time that NatureZap should be applied to the weed?
Small sized weeds 2-4 seconds, Medium sized weeds 4-6 seconds, Large sized weeds 6-8 seconds. As with any product, you will begin to learn from usage as to what works best for you and what may be best for your specific area. The great thing is, you cannot over apply the product!

7.  Should I be concerned about catching my mulch or pine straw on fire?
No! NatureZap’s technology limits the temperature below the flammability point of mulch. Always follow the safety instructions and keep children and pets away from this just like any other hot item.
